Chapter 322: Rules
Chapter 322: Rules
Rory turned to Yuel. "You’re sure?"
Yuel nodded without hesitation. "I’m sure."
Then Rory looked toward Jasper and Nix. "And the two of you? You’re certain you’re alright with Yuel becoming the first partner? No regrets?"
"Rory, I don’t regret it at all." Nix answered immediately. "I really think Yuel is the most suitable. I support him."
Jasper nodded as well. "Rory, Yuel is more suitable than I am. I support him too."
"Good." Rory nodded seriously. "Since none of you object, then it’s settled. From today onward, Yuel is officially my first partner."
As soon as she finished speaking, Rory called Wen and Paros over as well.
"You all listen carefully. Without rules, there can be no order. So from now on, this household is going to follow a few rules."
Rory stood and walked over to Yuel’s side.
"First. From now on, all major and minor matters within this household will follow Yuel’s decisions."
No one objected. As first partner, it was only natural that Yuel would hold authority within the household. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that arrangement.
"I have no objections," Nix said immediately.
The others nodded one after another. "We don’t either."
Hearing that, Rory suddenly let out a soft laugh.
"You all misunderstood something." Her smile carried faint danger. "I’m establishing rules for you. I’m not asking for your opinions. You only need to listen. Even if you do have objections, it won’t matter."
She wasn’t negotiating with them. She was informing them.
"No objections," huh? Please. Even if they did object, they’d just have to swallow it.
The instant Rory said that, Nix and the others immediately shut their mouths and stopped talking altogether.
Rory swept a calm gaze across them before continuing.
"Second. As my partners, match, and follower, I don’t mind if you compete for affection. But it has to remain healthy competition. No fighting. No malicious scheming against one another. And absolutely no hurting anyone."
Jasper and the others nodded immediately. They had no objections to that either.
More accurately... They didn’t dare have objections. Everything would follow Rory’s wishes.
"Third. If any of you have thoughts or plans, you tell me directly. You are not allowed to hide things from me."
Rory’s voice softened slightly.
"I can’t possibly know what every single one of you is thinking all the time. If something comes up, we discuss it together and solve it together."
Again, everyone nodded obediently.
"Fourth." Rory glanced toward Yuel.
"As my first partner, Yuel will carry greater responsibility and maintain the balance within the household. He’ll work very hard. So from now on, the first three days of every month, as well as the final three days of every month, will belong exclusively to Yuel. And every year, I’ll set aside twenty days specifically to travel with him."
"Rory..." Yuel stared at her in complete shock.
Who said being first partner was terrible? This position was incredible.
"What?!" Nix and Jasper were utterly stunned.
So being first partner came with benefits like this?! Why hadn’t they volunteered faster earlier?! Who cared whether they were suitable or not? They could’ve learned!
Seeing the obvious regret written across their faces, a mischievous glint flashed through Rory’s eyes.
Then she calmly added, "As an additional reward, Yuel will also stay with me exclusively for the next ten days."
Didn’t they all desperately not want to become first partner earlier?
Good.
Now they could sit there and drown in jealousy instead.
"Rory..." Nix looked like he was on the verge of tears from regret. "Is it too late for me to change my mind now?"
He wanted treatment like that too.
Meanwhile, Jasper immediately looked toward Rory seriously.
"Rory... I think we should still be allowed to compete fairly with Yuel."
"From now on," Jasper said immediately, "we should use a competitive system. Whoever is most suitable gets to be first partner."
Rory rejected the idea without hesitation. "No."
She smiled as she looked at Yuel. "Unless Yuel himself no longer wants the position, there won’t be any replacement."
Jasper and Nix instantly turned to stare at Yuel.
Yuel calmly took Rory’s hand into his own, his expression gentle yet utterly resolute.
"To become Rory’s first partner is my honor. There’s no way I would ever back down from it."
Give up the position? Impossible.
Off to the side, Wen and Paros looked at Yuel with unconcealed envy.
They wanted that position too. But neither of them was even Rory’s official partner yet.
"Alright." Rory clapped her hands lightly. "Then it’s happily settled."
After informing everyone of the new arrangement, she ended the video call with Nix.
The group gradually returned to their respective control stations aboard the battleship.
A moment later, Wen glanced at the rear surveillance monitor and quietly spoke up.
"Female Master... Vincent and the others are catching up behind us. Should we stop and let them board?"
Rory didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she turned toward Yuel beside her.
"Yuel, what do you think?"
Yuel glanced lazily at the surveillance screen, where the pursuing battleship trailed behind them through the sea of stars.
A faint smile curved his lips. "There’s no need to mind them. We continue forward as normal."
Let them aboard? Rory’s anger hadn’t even cooled yet. Why let them up here? So they could upset her even more?
Truthfully, Yuel had already guessed what Vincent intended from the very beginning.
But today’s situation had escalated far beyond what even he expected. The three of them truly had gone too far. A proper lesson was overdue.
As the battleship accelerated through space, Yuel leaned slightly closer toward Rory.
"Rory... what Vincent and the others did today was excessive."
Rory nodded quietly. "I know."
Then she looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
Yuel lifted a hand and gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, his fingertips brushing against the warmth of her skin.
His gaze was soft as water, filled entirely with her reflection.
"So I think... They should return to their respective clans for a while and reflect properly on what they’ve done. When they truly understand where they went wrong today, then they can come back."
Rory had no objections.
"Alright. We’ll do it your way."
The punishment wasn’t overly harsh, nor was it too lenient. To Rory, it felt exactly right.
Receiving her approval, the smile in Yuel’s eyes deepened even further.
"Then I’ll notify them."
As soon as he finished speaking, Yuel opened his communicator and added the three men aboard the pursuing battleship into a new group chat.
Meanwhile, aboard the battleship behind them, Xarion sat sprawled weakly inside the cockpit, looking half-dead as he glared viciously at Vincent and Vangar, who were piloting the ship.
"So? Have either of you come up with a way to make Female Master forgive us yet?"
They’d managed to chase after Rory’s ship, but they still hadn’t figured out how to earn her forgiveness.
Vincent and Vangar remained silent. Both men looked deathly pale, anxiety written plainly across their faces. They wanted the answer just as badly.
How exactly were they supposed to coax Rory back now?
Seeing neither of them speak, Xarion was just about to explode again when his communicator suddenly vibrated.
He immediately opened it.
The moment he saw the newly created group chat and Yuel’s message, his entire expression darkened.
He went from "barely alive" to "completely dead."
"Yuel became Female Master’s first partner?! That lunatic actually agreed to take the position? Has he lost his mind?"
Hearing that, Vincent and Vangar instantly switched the ship into autopilot before hurriedly opening their own communicators as well.
The moment they entered the chat, they saw the second message Yuel had sent.
Yuel: [As of today, I am officially Rory’s first partner.]
Yuel: [Today’s matter has been handed over to me by Rory.]
Yuel: [The three of you went too far.]
Yuel: [Whether intentional or not, your actions hurt Rory deeply.]
Then came the next message.
Yuel: [Rory was extremely upset.]
Yuel: [After boarding the battleship, she cried for a long time.]
Yuel: [She cried very hard.]
