Tang Xiao’s clone enveloped the area around them with his void element. "You are my wife, and that woman is up to no good, so I must protect you from her."

"I didn’t see Junior Brother Feng." Mu Qingge smiled faintly. "Sister Qingyue, have you ever heard that love can blossom from anger?"

"That’s impossible!" Shangguan Qingyue shook her head vigorously. "I will never like a scoundrel like him, and I will torture him if I manage to capture him!"

Su Xiulan didn’t show anything in her expression, but she tacitly exchanged glances with Mu Qingge.

"Sister Qingge, can you tell me about your husband?"

"No." Mu Qingge refused.

"Why?"

"My husband never likes it when I talk about him with other people."

"Oh?" Shangguan Qingyue raised an eyebrow. "Why is that?"

"He just doesn’t like it." Mu Qingge pointed at Su Xiulan. "If you don’t believe me, you can ask Sister Xiulan, since she’s already met my husband."

Shangguan Qingyue looked at Su Xiulan. "Sister Qingge’s husband is a quiet man, and he only speaks when necessary."

’Shit.’ Shangguan Qingyue inwardly cursed. "Ehm! I heard about it from someone else, but I can’t tell you that person’s identity. So, it’s true that your husband has several wives?"

"Yes," Mu Qingge responded with a light nod. "My husband has had four wives so far, and I’m his third. As for how he managed to get so many wives, I won’t say too much about that, but one thing is for sure, he’s a caring man."

"If he’s that kind of man, he shouldn’t have taken multiple wives, and he should have been faithful to one wife." Shangguan Qingyue retorted.

"Haha," Mu Qingge laughed softly. "Sister Qingyue, you’ve never met my husband, so you won’t be able to understand him. Once you meet him, you might understand our reasons for accepting him."

Shangguan Qingyue shook her head. "I didn’t mean to insult your husband, Sister Qingge. In my opinion, a man with several wives is the most detestable man, and he should be tortured alive."
