Chapter 325: Heading to the Poison Dragon Cave
Chapter 325: Heading to the Poison Dragon Cave
"Poison Dragon Cave?"
Li Wei thought for a long while before finally remembering where he had heard the name.
Flying Flower City. Lady Rose.
Li Wei rummaged through a corner of his Spatial Ring and found two Crystal Flowers.
He had almost forgotten about them.
He never thought he’d have a reason to remember them.
’Lady Rose, Evelyn, seems to be planning a trip to the Poison Dragon Cave to find the City Lord of Flying Flower City, who disappeared many years ago,’ Li Wei mused.
’If I’m going to the Poison Dragon Cave, Lady Rose would be a good person to travel with.’
’I just wonder if she’s already gone, since it’s been so long.’
’Lady Rose’s Power is quite impressive.’
’Now that I think about it, she must be at least a Tier Four Mage.’
’And she possesses the mysterious power of the Hundred Flowers God.’
Li Wei took a stroll around the Saint Villia Library.
He ran into Hobbes on his way out.
"Hey, Li Wei! Long time no see. Even though you’re in the Purple Level Class now, don’t go forgetting about us," Hobbes greeted him.
Li Wei smiled and said, "Of course not. I’ve just been too busy lately and haven’t had time to visit the Hall of Truth."
"Oh, by the way, Hobbes, do you know where I can find Cultivation Methods for Grand Mages? I couldn’t seem to find any in the library," Li Wei asked.
Hobbes said, "You’re looking for a Grand Mage’s Cultivation Method?"
He stared at Li Wei in shock. "Are you about to break through to Tier Four?"
Li Wei shook his head. "Not yet. I just want to learn a bit about it in advance."
Hearing this, Hobbes said, "Well, there’s no rush for that. Once you break through to Tier Four, you can just apply for it from the Elemental Tower."
"Is there no way to get it in advance?" Li Wei asked.
Hobbes said, "If you really want one, your only option is to buy it from a merchant guild in the city, and the price isn’t cheap.
There’s really no need. Until you become a Grand Mage, a Cultivation Method for Tier Four and above is of no use to you.
Those kinds of Cultivation Methods must be practiced in coordination with a Mystical Technique.
Only after you awaken your Mystical Technique will you know which Cultivation Method suits you. Getting one beforehand isn’t necessarily a good thing."
Li Wei looked at Hobbes and asked, "It sounds like you know a lot about Mystical Techniques?"
Hobbes nodded. "Of course. I’ve been a Tier Three Mage for two years now, and I’m finally starting to get a feel for them.
If all goes well, I should be able to awaken my own Mystical Technique within six months."
Li Wei said, "Then congratulations in advance."
"Do you have any insights to share?" Li Wei said jokingly.
Hobbes thought for a moment, then took out a notebook he carried with him and handed it to Li Wei.
"This is a record of my thoughts from every time I’ve had a moment of insight. It might not be useful to you, but you can use it as a reference.
Everyone’s process of awakening a Mystical Technique is different. In that respect, not even the Elemental Tower has a reliable method to offer as a guide."
Li Wei was pleasantly surprised. "Then thank you so much."
"I just need a quick look, then you can take the notebook back."
Li Wei used his Illusion Technique to copy the notebook’s contents.
Hobbes watched in amazement as a second, identical notebook appeared in Li Wei’s hands.
"What kind of Magic is that?"
"The Illusion Technique."
"Never heard of it. Is it Magic you created yourself? What type is it?" Hobbes asked, intensely curious.
Li Wei said, "No, it’s Magic my master created."
"I suppose it falls under Spiritual Magic."
Hobbes reached out and touched the Illusion Object Notebook. "It feels completely real," he said. "This doesn’t feel like something that could be created with Spiritual Magic at all. The sensation is more like a materialization from the Energy System."
Li Wei returned the notebook to Hobbes.
"Thanks."
Hobbes smiled. "Don’t mention it. Experience isn’t something you lose by sharing it. If it can help you, it just proves that my summaries are sound, or at least that I’m on the right track.
I’ve been researching this area recently, too, trying to see if I can find a reliable way to help Tier Three Mages break through and become Grand Mages.
This has always been an important topic of investigation for the Elemental Tower."
The two chatted for a bit longer before Li Wei and Hobbes parted ways.
He returned to the Celestial Realm.
He ran into Eiris, who was happy to see him and said, "Li Wei, I heard you’re from the Northern Territory?"
Li Wei was a little surprised. "Yeah, that’s right. Is something up?"
Eiris said, "I have a task here in the Northern Territory. Are you interested?
It’s a good opportunity for you to go back and visit.
We rarely see tasks from the Northern Territory; the place is just too remote."
Li Wei asked, "What’s the task?"
Eiris took out the Task Scroll, glanced at it, and said, "It seems to be a task to explore the Poison Dragon Cave. It’s supposedly the former lair of a Wind Poison Dragon—incredibly dangerous. Even Grand Mages risk perishing if they go in.
Er... this task is too dangerous. You probably shouldn’t go."
Eiris hadn’t paid much attention to the task’s details before. Only after looking closely did she realize it was a highly dangerous mission.
Li Wei, on the other hand, was pleasantly surprised.
He had just learned the whereabouts of the Poison Dragon Saliva, and now a task to explore the Poison Dragon Cave had appeared.
’This can’t be a coincidence.’
After asking, he learned that this task had been posted in the All Things House for half a month.
The task was extremely dangerous and located in the remote Northern Territory.
Very few people were willing to take it.
Furthermore, since Eiris knew Li Wei was from the Northern Territory, she had intentionally saved this task for him.
Li Wei said, "I’ll take the task. As it happens, I need to make a trip to the Poison Dragon Cave."
Eiris was surprised. "What are you going to the Poison Dragon Cave for?"
Li Wei said, "I need to find some materials, and they might be in the Poison Dragon Cave."
’While I’m at it, I also want to check out the Dragon Fall Slope Secret Realm.’
’I wonder if the Dragon Fall Slope Secret Realm has disappeared by now?’
’As for the Dragon Soul...’
’It’s too soon. I still don’t know how to face Torresta.’
’It won’t be too late to get the Dragon Soul after I’ve gathered all the other materials.’
’Anyway, the Dragon Soul has been sealed in the Mage Tower for hundreds of years. A little more time won’t make a difference.’
Seeing that Li Wei was insistent, Eiris didn’t try to dissuade him further.
"I’ll go too."
A familiar voice sounded out.
Li Wei turned his head and saw Lilith standing behind him.
He was a little surprised.
Lilith reached for the Task Scroll in Eiris’s hand.
Li Wei asked in surprise, "Why are you going to the Poison Dragon Cave?"
Lilith glanced at him over her shoulder. "What business is it of yours?"
Li Wei shook his head, took the Task Scroll, and said, "I’ve already accepted this task."
Lilith looked at Eiris, and Eiris pulled out another Task Scroll.
Li Wei looked surprised.
"There’s another one?"
Eiris explained, "This task has no limit on the number of people. Anyone can accept it."
"The client’s instructions are ’the more, the merrier.’ She can afford the reward."
Lilith took the Task Scroll and turned to leave.
Eiris watched Lilith leave, then whispered to Li Wei, "Do you have some kind of conflict with her?"
Li Wei found this strange. "No. Why?"
Eiris shook her head. "Nothing. It might just be my imagination."
"She just seems to be deliberately avoiding you."
