Chapter 907: Feeling Wronged
Chapter 907: Feeling Wronged
As Mrs. Grant finished speaking, Willow Grant began to softly sob.
Susan Stone had no choice but to feign ignorance and asked, puzzled, "Who bullied Willow? Why haven’t I heard of it? Willow, honestly, if you were wronged, why not tell me? When you said you wanted to move out back then, you promised to take good care of yourself."
Willow’s sobbing paused, she hadn’t expected Susan Stone to strike first.
Has she given up on her completely?
No way, she absolutely couldn’t let Susan Stone dislike her.
Willow quickly decided to change tactics, shaking her head, she said, "No, no one bullied me. I just miss mom and dad too much, seeing them makes me want to cry, so they misunderstood that I was wronged."
Susan Stone smiled and said, "It’s good that you weren’t wronged."
"You were definitely wronged!" Mr. Grant slammed the table and said, "There are posts all over school insulting you. Why are you still hiding it from us? Since Mrs. Stone is here, if there’s any grievance, speak up, Mrs. Stone will stand up for you!"
Mrs. Grant again played the good guy, glaring at Mr. Grant and said, "You should say less."
Afterward, she turned to Susan Stone and said, "Susan, I know Damian is currently in Rivain negotiating a deal. I specially helped him arrange a pickup and hotel in advance. With the two of us supporting him, Damian’s business blueprint in Rivain will surely expand. But we can’t stay long here in Crestfall, and once we leave, we must rely on you to take care of Willow."
Susan Stone’s face went stiff.
Mrs. Grant meant that if the two families fell out, the Knight Group shouldn’t expect to gain a foothold in Rivain.
Strong dragons cannot suppress local snakes, and Rivain is a lucrative territory; for the Knight Family’s development in Rivain, they still need to rely on the Grant Family.
This was clearly an open and hidden threat to her.
Susan Stone was very upset internally, but also understood that without a good relationship with the Grant Family, the development of the Knight Group could indeed be hampered, considering Rivain was the only missing piece in their domestic business layout.
With this in mind, Susan Stone could only suppress her displeasure and forced a smile, "Of course, I will certainly take good care of Willow."
"With your word, I feel at ease." Mrs. Grant said with a smile, "Fortunately, their school has a charity auction on Monday, we plan to attend with Willow. It’s a good chance to help Willow mend her relationships with classmates. Susan, if you’re free on Monday, why not join us?"
Before Susan Stone could refuse, Mrs. Grant spoke again, "I intend to do some baking myself and give it to the students. Doing this with servants isn’t very personable, come join me. I can borrow your home’s oven, how about it?"
Upon hearing this, Susan Stone couldn’t really refuse and had to nod stiffly.
Finally, lunch was over, Mrs. Grant called for the servants to drop a heap of gifts, then stood up to say goodbye.
"We’ve bothered you for long enough, we should be leaving now. Willow, say goodbye to Mrs. Stone."
Willow waved cutely at Susan Stone, "Mrs. Stone, we’ll head off now."
Susan Stone smiled and nodded, watching the Grant trio leave.
As they were leaving, Mrs. Grant didn’t forget to add, "I’ll come to the manor on Monday, we’ll see you then."
Susan Stone’s mouth twitched twice, waving at the three.
How had she not realized before that the Grant Family were so eloquent?
The butler stepped forward and asked, "Madam, should these gifts be opened now or put directly in the warehouse?"
Looking at the heap of gifts, Susan Stone felt a headache.
"Put them in the warehouse."
She said as she picked up her phone to call Damian Knight.
